A CHEATING CASE


On 28-07-06 at 10-00 Hrs. Smt. Lakshmamma W/o Chandrappa, Saraswathypura, Kadur taluk appeared along with the accused to the Kadur Police station and gave a complaint by stating that on the same day at 08-00 Hrs the accused visited their house as beggars and told her that they also know astrology and according to it a death will occur in their house within two days. Hence they took her ear rings and told her to touch one lemon. At that time the complainant became unconscious. In the meantime the accused decamped from their house alongwith the ear rings. With help of the villagers both the accused were caught. In this connection a case has been registered in Kadur PS in Cr No 274/06 U/s 420 IPC. Investigation is under progress.

MURDER IN KADUR

On 28-07-06 at 18-00 Hrs, Sri Maheshvarappa, Mangenalli, Kadur taluk registered a complaint in Kadur PS by stating that on the same day at about 16-30 hrs his wife informed him about one unknown female dead body lying at their farm near Siddaiah’s Katte. Immediately the complainant went to the spot and found that one lady of 30 yrs was hanged to the Neem tree with a saree. Also found a Raja whisky bottle near the tree. The face and legs of the dead body were carrying marks of abrasion as if assaulted with stone. The complainant also stated that the deceased seemed to have been raped and murdered by unknown accused. In this connection a case has been registered in Kadur PS in CR No. 275/06 u/s 376, 302 IPC. The case has been taken up for investigation.

Medium built, 5' Tall, 30-35 yrs age
Oily tanned skin colour. Black Hair.
Tattooed arms.......
Features similar to a Lambani lady

Yellow coloured flowered saree with blue border.
One black blouse.
One chocolate colored petticoat

District Police Function

Today in morning at the DAR Parade Ground during the weekly parade of the Distt Police following three Police Officers were felicitated for their participation in Operation Cocoon of the Joint Special Task Force which led to the elimination of the notorious forest brigand Veerappan and his gang on 18.10.2004:

1. Sri. S.Y. Patil, RSI DAR, Chikmaglur Distt Police:- Born on 1-6-1976, this Science Graduate joined the Police Department as a Reserve Police Sub-Inspector on 1-7-02, worked in the STF in between 6-7-2003 and 7-11-2004 at M.M. hills during which he contributed his might to the said operation in eliminating Verappan and gang. The Govt. of Karnataka has announced Rs.1,00,000/= cash reward to this Officer.

2. Sri. Maheswaragowda, PSI Honnalli PS, Davangere Dist:- Born on 20-5-1973, joined the Police Service as a Police Sub-Inspector on 4-1-1999 and worked as Reserve Police Sub-Inspector in between 15-9-03 and 15-9-05. In between he worked in Special Task Force for three months in the year 2004 during which he participated in the said operation. The Govt. of Karnataka has announced Rs. 50,000/= cash reward to this Officer.

3. Sri. S.R. Panindra Singh, Addl. Superintendent of Police, Chikmaglur Distt: Born on 16-5-1951, joined the service as a PSI on 1-8-1972, he was promoted as a Police Inspector in the year 1981, there after he was promoted as a Deputy Superintendent of Police in the year 1992 and as a Superintendent of Police (Non-IPS) in the year 1999, he has worked in STF between 6-9-04 and 3-4-05 in MM hills and participated in the said operation. The Govt. of Karnataka has announced Rs. 50,000/= cash reward to this Officer.

Sri. Vipul Kumar, IPS, the Superintendent of Police, Chikmaglur Distt., distributed the Demand Darfts worth the cash rewards to all these three valiant Police Officers.


Simultaneously a function was also organized to felicitate and bid farewell to the Officers of the District Police who are retiring this month. Following two officers are retiring this month:

1. Sri. Umar Beg, CHC16, H.H.Pura PS:- Born on 1-12-1949, Joined the Police Department as a Civil Police Constable on 5-3-1976, he was promoted as Head Constable on 31-5-1993. During this period he served in Kadur, Aldur, Ajjampura, Traffic, Tarikere and H.H.Pura Police Stations, and is retiring on 31-7-06.

2. Sri. Chinnaraju, AHC 41, DAR:- Born on 18-7-1948, joined the Department as a Armed Police Constable on 28-7-1976. Subsequently got promoted as an Armed Head Constable. He has served the Department for 30 years and now retiring on 31-7-2006.

Sri Umar Beg couldn’t attend the function on the ground of his ill health. Sri Chinnaraju was felicitated and honored by the District SP. In his farewell address he thanked all his colleagues who stood by him in his personal as well as professional life.

The Officers of Chikmagalur Dist. Police were present during this occasion. A ceremonial Parade was arranged and it was commanded by Sri Nagarajappa, RPI DAR. Sri Vipul Kumar, the District SP, in his speech praised the heroic efforts of the Police Officers who are working tirelessly in maintaining a peaceful society. He said that this system of honoring and bidding farewell to the Officers retiring every month during the last Friday weekly Parade is befitting the service these officers put in for the Department and hence it must be practiced religiously. It also gives a sense of contentment to the Officers.
